About Us
Atlas Transoil Inc. DBA KleenSoil, an Environmental Service Company, has been thermally treating petroleum contaminated soils since 1992 on a 25 acre parcel of land at Port Manatee in Palmetto, Florida. The facility consists of a 450 feet long, oil-fired "tunnel" kiln, raw material crushing, screening and extruding equipment, a raw material conveyor belt system, 127,000 sf of enclosed storage and processing space and air pollution control equipment. The kiln is capable of reaching combustion zone temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees °F.
It was the objective of the company to utilize this equipment to process and reclaim a variety of waste materials for further reuse as industrial raw materials or as sources of energy. Using their own engineering design and operations staff, KleenSoil converted the former pipe and tile manufacturing facility into a full-scale, stationary soil thermal treatment facility. With its unique design and process configuration, KleenSoil has constructed a system that exceeds the regulatory requirements for such facilities. The two-hour soil retention time in the kiln will assure compliance with the strictest clean soil standards, while the fully enclosed facilities will ensure maximum environmental protection and minimum financial liability for the company's customers.
KleenSoil obtained the necessary permits to begin soil treatment operations in the fall of 1992, and since that time has handled over 1,000,000 tons of petroleum impacted soils from more than 2500 sites throughout Florida. The company has developed an extensive customer base, comprised of engineers, consultants, contractors, government agencies and a variety of industrial and commercial firms. In addition to its soil processing services, KleenSoil frequently provides transportation services to its clients.
